I bought a “Net” Magazine yesterday and came across a small article about a new site similar to digg so I am giving it a try. The site is called Spotplex all you do is go on to the site put in your url and then insert some java script into your blog. Spotplex sorts popular stories from the internet, but I what I think sounds interesting about it, is that it does this based on page views rather than a reader having to click a button.
Take a look at the site and see what you think, could it rival digg?

This is actually an interesting concept. It is more accurate as well, since it is based on page loads. This records less savvy people’s activity as well as the ones with Digg accounts, which is great. If the huge blogs are incorporating this, though, it’s gonna be hard to compete.
It doesn’t have the “I found this!”-effect that Digg has, though, which makes it less interactive. I guess time will tell.
Nice find. You were featured on the front page when I visited it, btw, in case you didn’t know. (Spotplex a New Digg Rival? ยป Graphic Design Blog – 68 views)
Hi Asgeir
I agree, plus also some people are probably not interested in bothering to write a description of a post in digg either.
No I didn’t know I was on the front page, thanks for letting me know.
still on the front page (80 views at the moment) – congratulations.
it seems like a great concept. something else to try i think….
enjoy the rest of the weekend,

That sounds pretty awesome. I’ll have to add the code in soon. Thanks for sharing the site!
