I am a big fan of seeing how a designer goes through the design process, from planning and thinking to sketching, design concepts to finished design. I know from the feed back that some of you have given that you enjoy this type of post too. I would like to start showing some of your design case studies and have come up with a list of questions that will hopefully lead through the design process. If you have suggestions of anything that should be added please let me know.
If you would like to take part and show one of your design case studies, please cut and paste the questions below (feel free to add anything you feel is important) and email them with your answers along with images of the different stages – sketches/planning – initial concepts and finished work and a pic of yourself. You will get a link to your blog or website along with your case study and of course the chance to show off your design work

I really love this idea of having feature posts like freelancer focus and now this one. I had one about photoshop expert portfolios on my danish blog. And it really helps with getting people to come back. Not that I think you have a problem with that.
keep it up.
Thanks Thomas. Feel free to submit a design if you want
That’s nice, it can help newbies to know about planning. This is something that I did not used to do when I started webdesign or other web related project.
Great idea for a post. I would love to get involved when things quieten down a little.
That would be great John, send me something when you have time.
Tara – have you seen somewhere on the web, videos with design process in Flash ? Like Flash video-lessons ?
It’s interesting to know more about tricks that other designers using during their work.
p.s. Are you familiar with Adobe Flash software ?
Hi Art Hunter – there are some free flash tutorials on the adobe site http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/
or you can subscribe to http://www.lynda.com for more
I dabbled with flash ages ago but haven’t done anything properly in it.
I would love to see a start to finish and maybe get inside the head of some of these designers. It amazes me how they take a simple idea and turn it in to a work of art
For me designing is the adventure, every time the process looks different.

Janet Gify
