It’s not often that you come across a website and think wow this guy is amazing and it puts all your moans and groans about everyday life to shame. Patrick the Optimist, as he calls himself is dying of Motor Neurone Disease but is determined to be as optimistic about life as he can. He records videos of himself, his life, the inventions he creates with his dad to aid his life and also aims to paint 100 portraits of incurable optimists. the portraits are all of people with MND or in someway connected to the disease and they are good even though he says it becomes increasingly difficult to paint.
Please take a look at Patricks website and if you have blog write about it or tweet about it and spread the word to raise awareness of his cause. I think it is an amazing project .

I’m glad I found your post on Patrick today – a little sad, but it reminds us to be grateful, and that approaching life with the right outlook really can change everything.
I have so much respect and admiration for Patrick. Everything requires conscious effort and there maybe many times that he is in pain but he sets that aside and try to look at what he can do instead of dwelling on what he cannot.
This is awesome. I respect Patrick so much. This is a reminder to those of us whiners (yes me too), that it is in all how you look at it.
Wow.
I am going to be tweeting this out and talking about it. Thank You for sharing it.
It really makes you want to look at the glass half full and try harder. Even on your worst day. Thank you again for letting us know about this

I have the utmost respect for Patrick. In times like these we need to take time to try and help others. In any way possible.
