My Graphic Design Process Shown in Video

I have created a short 2 part video showing my graphic design process to create a piece of packaging design for Betty Miller a company producing pet food in a more natural way.

Graphic Design Process Video Part 1

My graphic design process in the videos starts with creative brainstorming and image research. This is followed by sketching, then working up a few design options on the computer to show the client.

Graphic Design Process Video Part 2

The second video shows how I go from ideas and sketches to working up the final design, including producing a 3d packaging visual which can be used by the client to help sell the product.
Part 2 can be downloaded by joining my mailing list below (don’t worry I won’t bombard you with emails or give away your details).

Good Video. I personally use pretty much the same approach when designing graphics for a client and find that it works well. What I like specifically about the video is the way it conveys the importance of consciously planning the concepts before rushing headlong in to the designed graphics. Thanks to this process the client was given 3 distinct approaches to market and not 3 reworking of one approach.

I cannot seem to get enough of your blog, LOL. I love this video equally well as your favicon tutorial. I am so dumb at graphics that I am try to learn as much as I can in this area. I would join your list to get part 2 :) Thanks again.

Hi Tara, I think the initial sketches and variety of ideas for the project are great. I could see quite a few of your ideas working really well. I like the final design but the other two are great too.

I also think it is quite a brave thing to do a video post on a blog and you did it really well. Nice work Tara.

Thanks Logo Design Monster – I try not to watch it back much myself – why does your own voice always sound so weird when you hear it recorded :)
