Online Art and Design Newspaper

art daily

I received a google alert about an online design and art newspaper called Art Daily, which sounded interesting so I thought I would take a look. Art Daily claims to be the first Art News Paper on the Net. The home page features the latest Art and Design News along with various art videos, currently videos being shown include – Salvador Dali on “What’s My Line?” and “The Beatles – Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band.”

There are different sections to the magazine as well as more traditional fine art there is a section on 3D. photography and digital art (showing modern web design). I also really liked the graphics gallery/calendar where the numbers 1 through to 31 had all been illustrated in a different way.

Included in on the site are also links to artists websites and galleries and museums listed by country.

If you like art and design it might be worth keeping an eye on this site.

That What’s My Line? video was hilarious! I don’t know much about Dali, but was he doing that to be funny or was he serious? I can’t believe he was serious.

The website sections are difficult to navigate. I don’t know how you had the patience to find that Graphics Gallery. I’m glad you put a link to it. Very interesting! Oh, I see, you have to go to any section in the top nav and then scroll almost down to the bottom to see the Menu with all the different sections you talked about. Hmm, maybe we could help them out with redesign!

Hey!!! They have Tokyo Plastic on their digital art page! They have some really crazy 3D Flash stuff.

Nice… Seems like some interesting reading material! Thanks for the heads-up! :)

PS – that ‘capcha’ style plugin you’ve got is blooming annoying! If you get the answer wrong (or forget to enter one at all) then you get an unstyled error. Hitting ‘back’ (at least in Firefox) destroys the comment you’ve already typed.

    Isn’t there one that’s a little less destructive? ;)

    Hi Lauren
Navigation is not particularly user friendly but they seem to have some good content. I signed up for email alerts to keep up to date with whats happening.

    Hi Paul
I have removed the capcha plugin, thanks for letting me know about that, if any one has any suggestions for good ones please could you let me know.

Does their site have an RSS feed that I may have missed?

    Hi

I don’t think there is an RSS feed but if you scroll down quite away on the left there is a sign up for email alerts box.
