New Design Resources Section Added

I have just added a new section to this site called Design Resources. Here I have put some downloads which I hope will be useful. For new design freelancers I have added a downloadable job book page, design brief sheet and sample invoice. For students I have included the sample design brief I posted previously.I have also included some lorem ipsum. I will try to keep adding to these downloads along with adding in some links I think may be of interest. If anyone has any suggestions I would be happy to add them.

Dammit — you copied the blog content I was just about to write. Honest, you got in to my head and took out my to-do list, while I was writing about Google, Branson and Cuban.

Jokes aside, this is a lovely place to read about freelancing. It feels real, it feels on-the-level and I can relate to just about every post you’ve made.

    Welcome Ahsan,

    We must be telepathic!
I am trying to write about freelancing from my experiences, I glad you like reading it.

Please feel free to add your comments and share your experiences too.

Cool! Might come in handy some day ;)

Also, the link in your post leads to your blog’s admin log-in page instead of the Design Resources page….just to let you know :D .

Thanks for the design brief sheet. I’ve done one or two small freelance jobs and probably covered off these questions anyway, but it’s useful to have it in a formal kind of questionnaire. I may well adapt a similar type sheet for my own needs if you don’t mind?

    Hi Aaron

    Thanks for your comment

Glad you found the design brief sheet, of course you can adapt it anyway you like. If you think of anything that should be added maybe you could let me know and I’ll adapt mine too?

Not at all, Tara. Go ahead. :D

If you’ve got a minute, I just added a post on poster design. Had a workshop at the university where we were creating poster concepts dealing with global warming. I’d be happy to have someone with experience to give a bit of quick feedback.

    Hello All,

Not too sure if this is the right post area for this but consider my wrist slapped if it is no!

My Son’s friend has asked me to re-design his bosses’ web site. When I asked him for the deatils, URL, host etc. he gave me a box that he had bought, a takeaway website with a .com URL. I was wondering what you thought about these. There must be only so much you can do with these? I would rather re-design from fresh with bits of what he has already.

    Thank you as always,

    Best wishes
    Graeme
