Graphic Design Blog has Moved Host

This post is brought to you by Hosted Exchange

Graphic Design Blog has just moved host. It was previously hosted with 1 and 1 but the database was getting frighteningly close to their 100MB limit per database and unfortunately they are not flexible enough to allow you to pay extra to expand it (actually I couldn’t even get a response from support). I have now moved to Hostgator after reading recommendations by a few of you, especially Paul at Reflections who suggested them to me. I apologise if there has been any disruption and unfortunately I think I may have lost a few of your comments (sorry). There has also been a lack of post for this reason. I have my fingers crossed all will now run smoothly.

Excellent customer service from 1&1 there. Definitely best you moved from them if that’s how they normally operate.

I’m still actually with ICDSoft, who provide fantastic customer service. I was supposed to move host company after my Digg experience, but WP Cache seems to be helping me out a great deal, even though I haven’t received a flood of traffic lately.

Hope all goes well with the new host.

Yes you can’t beat 1 and 1 for customer services and unfortunately I have to keep a cut down package with them as all my domains are linked to the package :(
Fingers crossed for hosgator, they actualy moved the blog over for me so 100% better than 1and1 already. I will have to look at WP Cache I haven’t heard of it.

Glad to see you’ve made the switch sucessfully! I now host almost 300 sites with Hostgator, and they haven’t let me down yet!

Of course, you’re strictly forbidden from taking it out on me if it all goes pear-shaped! ;)

    Hi Paul

You’ll be number one on my hitlist if it all goes wrong ;) . Seriously though thanks for the advice, Hostgator would have to go along way to be worse that 1and1 for customer service.

I hope you will be fine with Hostgator. Are you on a shared plan?

Hi Andre, I have a reseller (shared) plan.

Glad you made the switch. Hope Hostgator serves you well. I have heard so many bad stories about 1and1 that I have no difficulty in trusting you at all! ;)
