Graffiti without the Guilt

bus

Some graffiti is truly art, other is just plain destruction, but have you ever fancied showing off your artistic skills or lack of them, maybe on a London Bus or City Wall? I came across a site called http://www.zewall.com yesterday where you can do just that. You choose where you want to paint – from a London bus, to a brick wall to the Roofs of Paris, pick your spot and spray away with an online spray can. I tried my hand at it, I was going to try a little blog advert, but my results were too bad to save. So if you’re bored at work or stuck inside on this rainy bank holiday in the UK have a go.

Don’t forget if you get a minute too to have a go at the “Do Designers Think Alike Experiment.” I will upload my logos tomorrow and hope you will too.

On the subject of graffiti without guilt, there is always the practise of reverse graffiti where you take a scrubbing brush and a bucket of water and ‘clean’ your message into a suitably dirty surface. Kind of an artistic equivelant of writing “Clean me” on the back of a mucky transit.

Found this too late to edit into my original post but here is an example of reverse graffiti…

    Hi Matt

That reverse graffiti is amazing. I wonder if they’d come and do my car ;)

What a good idea. My favourite graffiti artist is without a doubt Banksy. Brilliantly talented and though-provoking.

Hey great link, thanks, good to know we can all vent our artistic frustrations when a spray can isn’t at hand hah

Great link and resources. For me, graffiti is about exploring and creating something in an urban environment, and is very artistic in some measure.
