I really used to only see them in the browser url address bar and think that they were a nice touch but after reading your article I realise I need to get myself one as soon as possible! Thanks for sharing this.

Hi Baaltazar, No I don’t think so, they just make recognisability better and are easier for bookmarking (as I found out )

Great guide. For anyone out there who doesn’t use Favicons its a must. Once your used to including them you can start to get fancy and animate them. Search Favicon Gallery for some great designs
